All right. I I want to remind everybody that I'm going to be doing workshop right now. So, we will need to make progress research-wise. That's why we're here. I hope some some of you were able to make it to the to the Satanic Congregations Lady
Paladins tonight. I hope you all will make it. Let's research Sat- Satanas again. Yes, let's do that. Audio is decent. Thanks. Thanks Satan- Elder Satanas. Good.
Oh, hello. I made it. >> [laughter] >> Here's some Nice. Oh God, love the audio. So, here we go. People, I want to throw some things up. I don't want to waste your time. I want to throw this up. And I want to get going. People,
We have the capacities to do proximity searches. Can everybody see this? Should we want you monitor? Thank you, Jay. Can everybody see this? I hope so. This is the TLG. And I'm just going to put in our good old fashion Satan, and I'm going to leave the ending off so that it gets free to play with it. And um Oh God, let's see. I wanted to see where Satan and the dragon are found together in all of these works. Now, what do we find here, people?
Look. 29 out of 29 works. That is 29 works more than Hebrew. All of Hebrew in existence. Just kidding. Uh it's No, I'm not. 29 out of 29. That seems like a fair amount. Right? To find those. Look. Let's do it. Oh God, do they have it at earliest? Okay.
People, look what's the earliest we're going to get when we put those two together. We're going to get first Anno Domini. So, remember this is contemporary with Jesus, right? Oh God, this is from Letters on Virginity by Clement.
People, why do you think the devil would be the You can't answer this. Just I want you to sit there and mentally ask yourself, why do you think it is that good old Satan is dragon is involved with virgins? This is about virginity, doc. Right? Surely
Surely it has something to do with his power. Here's Epiphanius. Oh God, we got to jump all the way to the fourth. I don't like that. Mm. Okay. Severance, right? Oh God. Next to Dracon and Satanic I guess was a voluntary, okay.
What are the powers that everybody is always concerned about with that devil?
Look at this, people. Always some lady got Damn it. I love it. Right? Blame her. Didymus Chaikos ho dragon ho archaios Satanas. Okay, look, people, we picked up in the fourth century. So, this is 300s. Anno Domini, right?
Uh we picked up the dragon here with He's the ancient one. He is Satan. Right? Why do you think it's um Yeah, also the office. He's the office, people. Now, for those of you who are sitting there, I'm just going to talk to some voices in my head. If you look up office, you're going to find serpent. If you look up Dracon, you're going to find serpent. How do you know which is which? >> [laughter] >> And why is this guy both? Because you really don't understand what
The definition is. What the definition is. How do you ferret it out? Let me just do this really quick. People, watch this. If you think this is interesting, I'll check the notes in just a minute. I want you to say it. Okay, office.
I see some Euripides, and I see the Bacchae. Repeatedly. See some Hesiod. Some Aeschylus. Oh, look at this, people. Pindar's Pythian. That's the ode that Medea has a her prophecy. Her oracle.
Or Hesiod. Okay. Um Aeolian. Look at the Dracon here. Serpent-like bracelet. Fine. The more specif- you know, kind of a specified constellation.
Okay. Now, watch. You get a general feel. Get a general feel for it. Now, notice they say like Dracon. Well, just why don't you tell me?
Dragon serpent. Look what it says. Now, we're screwed, right? Now, we're screwed. Interchangeable. What kind of [\\h__\\h] put that there? Put that there. Seriously. What kind of [\\h__\\h] And it's not interchangeable? Right? That's how words work. Right? There's differences between them. For example, a penis and a [\\h__\\h] You wouldn't use those two words. You wouldn't go to your doctor and say, "Where's the problem, doc? Oh, it's with my cock." Right? And you wouldn't do that. You'd say penis. Right? There's a difference. Even though you think those are the same words,
They're not. They're not the same words. Oh, fantastic. Serpent-shaped bracelet or necklace. By the way, people, those were obscenities. Those were obscenities. That type of language is the obscene. It's immaculate, right? Now, you're going to sit there and say, "Oh look, Ammon, we've painted ourselves into a corner." Cuz now we know, woo, it's interchangeable. Oh God.
Right? Look, it's the Kairu- Kaion. The wand with a serpent coiled around it. Ha. Now, people, fear. Fear not. For I am I am with thee. Probably from Derkomai. This is how we get out of this hole. What's the difference between the two? Right? Look at the emphasis. Dracon is be- going to be coming from this verb, which has its own history. Right? Look how it's used. Woo, Andromachus. Off with Galen.
Um that's Andromachus, the physician of Nero. Arch-physician of Nero. He's the one collecting the formula that you really want cannot have. This verb is used by him. To see clearly. Not just to see. Right? There's plenty different verbs that mean to see in different ways, right? This is to see clearly. That is this person has sight. This person has sight. Look at this. Flashing fire from his eyes.
Right? Okay, people. Don't you love that? Oh yeah. I love it. Okay, anyway. Um
Look with favor on eyes. Flash, gleam. Yes, yes. So, the Derkomai, all these dragons are blind. Right? Just look at Tiresias. For goodness' sakes. Okay, here. Let me go back. Do people have my search back? Look at Tiresias, people. He's the seer. Right? But he's blind. Why? Because that's how all good seers are. Even Homer, right? Is bringing you this through the music. He's the music musician who's bringing you the poetry. Right. So, there is a difference between the office,
Right? And the Dracon. That's the seer.
Why do you think they're guarding things in temples? It's because they can see what you can't.
This is all according to the Apocalypse. Love it. The Acts of Philip. This is fourth century. Is Philip that late? So, okay.
Or Spedma. Right? People, look what follows the devil around.
Kif. Make go away from you all his sperma. People, watch out for the sperma of Satan. Why, people? It's all coming through epithumia. Do you remember that what that was? This causes disease, this thing. Epithumia.
This thing causes disease. People, I'm glad we looked up the dragon cuz I wanted to see. Now, the question is for those of you who are sitting there who want some riddles to solve or something. This, you know, keep yourself busy mentally. Um why is it the dragon now is bringing up these epithematic
References, these sexual sexual desire, passion. See how they say here lust. Lust. Longing after something.
What is your epithumema? That's the object of your desire. Come on, people.
Your yearning desire. Anybody have yearning? I yearn. I yearn for a chocolate ice cream right now. I could so use some chocolate ice cream. Why didn't we get any?
People, are people seeing this? I'm going to look at the comments for a second. Are people seeing the wondrousness of the of what's going on here with the Satan and the whole desire? Right? It's always the thing that she's got. What is it that makes us drawn to her? Yearning makes you remember. I like that. That's a good one. That's a good one. Right?
Yeah, some people some People they work on dragon etymology. Oh, nice. This is good stuff, isn't it? I think so. Is smoke coming out? Jeff. Jeff. What are you talking about? Oh, it's your emoji. Is there?
>> [Laughter] >> Oh, put it up again.
Yes, that's right. Erosophia. I love that. I like the name too, by the way. Smoke comes out of his nose, people. Is that right? Right? Okay, so he's got a fumigator hanging on his back built there. Which if you think about it, that's pretty smart. Right?
>> [Laughter] >> We could all use a fumigator in the behind us.
It would make life more pleasant. No, I want to keep diving. Can I share my screen, too? People got this? People run from the epithumia. It's all coming from the dragon. You know who he is. Now you know why the Christians don't want you to think thoughts about doing, you know, doing the Aphrodite.
Right? Here's Acts of Philip. Play from that dragon. That's the same. Right? He's going to make you sick in your soul. Right, people? That's what he does. Everybody knows that love is a sickness. Don't you people know that? If you put If you put a in eros and um nosos, you'll find they're disease. You'll find it there. They're together. Oh, look, people. Here. We got Cyril, 4 to 5 B Anno Domini. Look. What is the serpent? He's Polumechanos.
Now, I've seen this word before, but some of you have not. Look at it. Break it apart. Madalena, if you're here. Where is uh Where is uh um Who is Caitlin? Where is Caitlin? God damn it. Caitlin, are you there? If she's there, she would make her come forward. Step forward. Chat, Caitlin, if you're there and say, "Hey, I'm here." Siri? Seriously, there's somebody called [\\h__\\h] you.
People. Seriously. What? Is she there? Or is Brian there? Good. Brian, if you're out there, say hello. I want to do some questions about the Greek Hey, Snappy. Fantastic. Here. Okay, let's do this. Oh, okay. >> [laughter]
>> Fantastic. Um the Greeklings who want to respond. People, let's figure out what this word Polumechanos is.
Any of my any of my students in Greek want to take a guess at Polumechanos cuz we're trying to find out what Satan is. And here's an epithet of him. If any of them says they want to, let them chime in. Any many battles or many
Ah. Mache. Ah, yes. The the similarity in the root is there. Yes. Um Let's say mechanics. Right? Mech. Mechana. Oh, now it is true that battle is the whole running together of mechanics. Right? But cuz that's there between battle and war, right? Battle is that individual action. But let's turn the battling into productive work. So much working.
Much proficiency. Um people, let's That was Brian, by the way. Thank you, Brian. Polumechanos.
Notice that Brian is working with roots, people. That's what you do. Brian, by the way, how was your class on How was your class on uh the Homeric Hymn to Demeter? Was that good? Yeah, it was great. Um just a the deeper look at the uh at the story and at the you know, learning about Demeter herself.
You love it, don't you? Did you do the burning off of the mortality of of Demophon? Oh, yeah. Well, first Christ. I love it. Oh, God. Which is Orphic Hymn number 10? Polumechanos, people.
Polumechanos. Look, resourceful, inventive. An epithet of Odysseus. So again, mechanao is really to to construct something, to engineer something. Like you have to use your brain to get this thing. And polu is just that very much more so. Look at what you can have. You can have counsel, right? That is polymechanic, that is very inventive or resourceful.
Right? So, okay, good. Orphic Hymn number 10. Can one of the students check which Orphic Hymn is number 10? I want to see which god is receiving the Polumechanos uh epithet, please. And the person that can get it, post it. Chewy, look for it. Tell us which god it is. Pan.
Pan. Is it Pan? Here. Oh. Hang on, 1 second, people. While we dig, I've got it sitting here. Hold this, Chewy.
People, it's a workshop, right? So, I got to get up and walk around every once in a while. I'm looking at through my own hard copy of the Orphic Hymns. Let's see. Number 10.
Oufusi pametera thea. Polumechane meter.
So, it's the mother, the great mother. The all mother, they call her. Nature. Nature. Isn't Isn't that gorgeous? So now you know Why is nature, aka here Aphrodite,
Who is the Medusa >> [laughter] >> here in the Orphic Hymn? Why, man? Oh, she's gorgeous. Right? She is the Selasphore. Oh, God. [sighs] People, if you haven't been there, right? Potnia Daimon.
People, idea. She is absolutely gorgeous. Isn't that amazing? So, this is the epithet that they are using for the great Oh, God. Sexy. Absolutely sexy stuff. Mhm. Apator. She's erate. Boy, she's desirable. Right? Right? Oh, God. Meggy. Eobolontheir. Right, if you leave her, she's so pleasurable, man. She's just gorgeous. >> [clears throat] >> Very powerful, right? And you can't get past her, right? She's a cool ray, but she is a polycephalic. Oh God.
Autarkia. She does it by herself, people. She doesn't need you. Right? Okay, so that epithet is used for her. And here for the dragon. Satan bearing the same epithet. Yeah, isn't that great? Here it is, people, in Cyril of Alexander Alexandria, excuse me. Oh God.
His commentary in 12 on the 12 minor prophets. Fantastic. Now, why is he talking about that? That's it, people. This one This one I'm going to look in the immediate environment, then I'm going to say, "Okay, I've got to look at this one a little more closely." Research-wise.
He's that one who's causing that wandering. So, it's always connected with the love, people.
What else is the dragon here in Cyril? Polycephalos. Okay, here, people, you can help me with this one. Here's what I'm going to do. Look at the word that the dragon is here. It's Satan is here, right? It's Satan the dragon. Ho deisti ho Satanas. That is it's Satan. He's the polycephalos.
Right? The many-headed. What does that mean? Anyone?
Chewie, does anybody have any guesses? Just tell them out to me. Hm? Oops. Uh Does it have something to do with the flocks?
People. Somebody says, "Hydra, hydra, hydra." I know what my many-headed things are. Right?
Sophistes. Interesting. Interesting. Theion. People, look at the terminology that's around it. Right? Okay. Why is Right? That beast. Of plants and Dioscorides. Good. Here's the Septuagint. So, we know it's there. Celebrated air on the fluke, so-called from its expressing the hissing of serpents around the Gorgon's head.
Expressing the hissing of the serpents around the Gorgon's. Now, anyone? I'm going to go back to the discussion. I'm I'm bringing it to you because I don't think the Greek students are going to have an advantage here unless they've seen it. Brian, if you've seen this many-headed thing,
You know, let me know. Let me know. Can say half. Yeah, is it new? Typhon? Oh, there's Typhon coming up.
Is That's fine. Is Satan Typhon?
Somebody said plastic Typhon. Okay, people, who's the lover of Echidna, right? Where is the origination of the right? It's with Echidna, the maid that won a sock. Right? I'm telling you that's how the it works out vocabulary-wise. Typhon is yes. Chewie, did you write that in there? It's funny. Okay. OMG in a Is Satan Typhon? This is the question I live for. I love that. Who put that, George? Is that George did that? Good job, George. So, who is Satan? Is he Typhon? Right? Is he Typhon? Hm.
People, who's Typhon again? Oh, he's that lover of Echidna who steals the strings the neura from Zeus and takes over Olympus. Declares it for the power of a hypochthonian divinity. The queen herself, the Echidnaic queen, puts her back on the throne. Interesting. The son of Gaia and Tartarus. Isn't that gorgeous?
Aidoneus. Right? Oh God. Love the I was wondering why Muse Let me stop on this one. Apollodorus. Yes, look, see? Right? I should love Apollodorus. I told you, read him. Apollodorus was the one that Madelaina just took off with. You know, and she could feel like, you know, she could realize, "Oh [\\h__\\h] I'm reading." I thought chat my like this one. Okay. People, let's keep going. Let's keep digging. Chewie? Do I need to? Okay.
Many-headed. Good for him. Do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do Um people.
Look at these people. Who are the ton eobolon theirion? Any of my Greek students want to tell me what eobolon theirion are?
Do do do do do do do do do do do do do Eobolon. Bolon is just ball to throw, right? Eo is from eos. The Um venomous. Yeah? Yeah, beast. Yeah. Venomous. Yes, good, Madelaina. I'm glad you spoke up. Look, people. Look. That's exactly what Madelaina just said. Now, I'm going to I'm going to ask you, if we put it Now, people sit there and think. What if we take this combo of these two words that are appearing with our dragon Satan combo.
Now, we're going to make a combo in another dimension. We're going to build this combo off of our dragon Satan and see what we get. We're going to put eobol and their. Notice I'm I'm knocking off the endings. Right? Because we don't need them. Eobol and their. I want to capture all of it. Right? So, I go to my text search. I go to proximity. Eobol
And their. You know, nobody's done this. We're doing this together, people. Right? Oh God. It's like a giant fun house. Look, people, 171? Holy mackerel. Are these in No, these are not in chronological order. I prefer chronological order, people. I'm sorry. Where do we first start getting these? Okay, people. Essentially, what we're doing is we've made a linguistic sonar. Now, we're pinging for these two, eobol and their.
Because we know that in the environment lurks Satan. So, if we find, say for example, Typhon in the range, within the field, you know, a few lines of eobol and their, we know that, okay, we're hitting on some hidden architecture. Now, shouldn't love that?
God. Okay, here's Stephanie. Okay. Um
Where we finding it first? Here's a grammarian who's talking about it. It's in the Sibylline Oracles. Okay? Okay. Okay, we'll get to that. Um Sibylline Oracles again. Let me just scan these. Oh God, did you guys know that Jesus takes on the form
Yeah. Did you know that? Yeah, he transforms. He trans No, no, he transforms. I got to show it to you. It's so cool cuz it's it's like a straight-up magical operation. People, we're looking at the flocks again. And it's scary stuff. It's terrible and scary. People. Oh God.
I'm Here's Philo Judaeus. Oh God. Fantastic.
Sarcoboron is interesting. Right? What are the differences here between those ones that are sarcobolic and eobolic? What is this?
Um Those of you who are doing Greek, please.
Please. Oh, you ask. Let me see. What did I do? Huh?
>> There we go. What do we do? Oh, come on. That's it? We came all this way for that? Look, people, I'm serious. The grant my students who've been through the intensive course, you could have figured this one out. All I had to do is look at a burdock and the and the socks, right? Look, we're going to squeeze some We're going to squeeze something out of this. Come on. This is stupid. I'm not coming all this way just to get bunk.
People. God damn it. A little bit here, people.
I'm going to give it one more thing here. We're just not This is just like not drilling our drilling here is not good. And people, this happens. This happens. do do do do do do
Uh No, I can't catch a bus. There's no Ubers here. There's no nothing. son of a Okay. Let's go back. Keep digging. Um we're talking about different different eobolic flesh This flesh consumers and those
Harmodius say, "What are we talking about?" We're talking about something that's going to help. Harmodius eobolois thanasimois What are we going to need help with? We're going to need help with those eobolic beasts, right? And those
Thanasimois. Those death inducers.
Okay. Look at this, people. Death inducers. Now, you think, "Okay, that's not a finding." But remember, why are we here? We're here because of this couplet. This eobolic beastly thing that's going on. Creatures that have this power of sending the venom. They're coupled with the death inducers.
So, you can say in the back of your mind, "Wait a minute. I may see context where the devil is behind the scenes when they're when the death inducers are taken out." What else does it do? What does it tell you just on a basic level? It tells you that Dioscorides, who is a See, they've got med there. He's a physician. He's writing the De materia medica. The It's about medical, you know, supplies, medical drugs, right? Things that you're using as drugs.
Here it's Smyrna. Right? That's what we're using. Anyhow, um we're going to find that it helps against these, you know, death inducers and other things. More Dioscorides. So, what is Dioscorides treating? He's treating the bites. Well, how is he treating them, people? Look, I didn't plan this. Hey, [\\h__\\h] you. Right? All those people out there who were rooting against the Christ. Look. sun chrismati
What is it? It's a Christ thing, people. Oh, God.
If you're If you're unfortunate enough to be scorpion bit. Remember how we looked up in a grammarian on Lady Babylon that grammarian said, "Hey, um the difference with the Christ thing is the Christ thing has as opposed to the alepho, the anointing. Um this is the Christ thing has to do with the treatment of venoms and whatnot." Yeah, look, there it is. For scorpion. Right? All of those poisonous little spider
There's Thessalus. Oh, God, I hate getting into this, people. Okay, here I'm going to Here I'm going to quake in my shoes a little bit. Everybody take a look at this. This is Thessalus, the astrologer and physician.
He is talking about medical astrology. Have you ever looked at medical astrology? Well, this is a book on the powers of plants. De viribus herbarum. On the powers of plants. Nice classical pronunciation. Peri botanis. My students be thinking about it.
Is this the plant of Aries? God. Look at what it says. ho chylos
Chylos of this thing. The chyle. This is often translated chyle. What does it do? It works against Huh? People who are in the Greek Look, here's the definite article. Here's the noun that it's with. The bites of the eobolic beasts.
Right? It's got to be prepared in a specific way. And then he's going to go on. He's going to tell you how to prepare it. It's the plant of Aries. You
People People, more Dioscorides. Do you see how much Look, here's the theriac. Right?
We are talking about whole alexipharmacos. The antidote. Right? pediton thanasimon You know, that applies to those death-inducing drugs. Right? And who are using these? Right? People Oh, God. People.
Is it Dioscorides or No, it's not. It's uh Um I'll think of his name in a minute. Just a second. We may see him. Here's Serenedes' magic and natural history. Remember, we're getting here all from the devil. So, we need to see Are there Are there other If we find any other words that are connected that will bring us back to the devil, we can say, "Oh, it's in the surface." More of Serenedes.
There's What are you doing? You eobola elke theriodecta Those who were bitten by that eobolic creature. Those Those guys can be healed. How are we going to heal it here? This is just interesting just cuz it with copros. Anybody?
>> [Sighs and gasps] >> people copros [\\h__\\h] Nice. Exactly. I'm glad somebody got it. Right? That's the shite that you're going to put on with the in that wine and you're going to drink it. >> [laughter]
>> [\\H__\\h] wine. Yeah. You know what, people? If you were theriodecta, you know, you wouldn't mind if you were stung by something and the doctor was like, "Here, drink this [\\h__\\h] wine." Right? Come on, man. It's an antipharmacon, people.
What's an antipharmacon? Something's blood. The blood of this thing. Right? It's further up on the page. We don't have the lines. It's further up from the page. But there, it's the blood of something.
Oh, God. This one brings pepsis. Anybody want Pepsi? Right? eustomachian Do you want to have a good stomach? That's what you need. Little [\\h__\\h] wine. Was that the [\\h__\\h] wine or was it the one before? Somebody make [\\h__\\h] wine, please. Shh. Okay, people, just stop. Just stop right there.
We dug all night. Oh, somebody get that off. Hey, you got to bleep that or something. Chewie, you got to bleep that. Whatever I say. People, we're going to end with this. I know it's early, but this is the This is the true gem. Okay. Let me just remind everyone, how did we get here? We got here from using the search pair that is Satan and the dragon. When Satan and the dragon are there, we also get the eobolic beasts.
And when the eobolic beasts are there, we get specific serpents, aspidas.
And some other guys. We get leopards and lions and I don't remember what the scumnus are. And echidnas. People.
Vipers. Right? That's fun. Is this in a medical manual? No. What are the scumnus? Now I'm curious. What's being paired with those?
What's being paired? People, though there's so many [\\h__\\h] Greek words.
Okay, probably welp, but specifically the what lions welp. Okay, that's probably why there's a lion there lion there. So the welp of a lion, fantastic. Well, in poets it's also used to people like Achilles. It's used of women. Nice some lyric poet has got good [\\h__\\h] Right?
God, no. What's in the Oresteia? >> [sighs] >> Achilles, interesting. Okay, so it's that welp. Okay. People see. Right? You could have you could have surprised me and thrown that out and I would have been like, oh [\\h__\\h] Arkus, what do you what do you think Arkus is?
Yeah. Very good. Yeah, nice job. What is that? Anyway. Lions, tigers, and bears people, oh my god. Why is that in the realm? Why is that in the region of the Theria Eobola? I understand the Echidna.
Why are these lions and leopards? Why are they all always in the in the mix? Cuz the last thing I checked lions are not poisonous. But for some reason, this isn't the first text by the way I've seen this in. I've seen this over and over and over again. The funny thing is I find it mostly in the Apocrypha.
Right? Jesus is always refi or the apostles are always refinding some [\\h__\\h] leopard. Right? Circe, right? Dionysus, why? The Eobolic nature of the beast.
>> [Sighs] >> It's got to make you change your definition of Eobolic just a little bit, right people? Right?
Love it. Laugh at the basilisk. Oh god, that's Now people, notice where this is from? This is the Testament of Abraham. This is the Testament of Abraham people, where is it coming from? First century.
First century. Yo. Bro. This is contemporary. You know who's written this stuff? Yes, I'll give you [\\h__\\h] one one guess. Should we tell me if any of them?
Let me see, Jesus. Jebus. Naughty Paul. Philo. It's a little bit, you know, it's a little bit late, but okay. Right, Philo's got a bunch of [\\h__\\h] to read. Well. Right, no, but yes, you're right, Philo. People who Jebus is the one I'm looking for, right? Why am I looking for Jebus? Right? Why am I looking for Jebus? Because you will see things in this work, the Testament of Abraham, there are things that Jesus says directly.
>> [Sighs] >> Does this thing go back as early as the first BC? Oh god, notice people on a lot of these? Look at one to two. Oh god. Is he using it as a source? Irenaeus, Philo, the grammarian. Mhm.
I'd like to take it back a little earlier. I'd like to put it at the Testament of Abraham, like the first BC, but whatever, okay. >> [sighs] >> Yeah, I love it, man. Oh look, there's Galen. Right?
A point to goon blow up the megalos. Oh god, he he exaggerates all the time. Right, Galen said, but he doesn't lose as many patients as anybody else, so you know, maybe it's he's being a little bit careful. Okay, people, it's going to go on and I just want you to see this is the way that we're surfing trying to figure out where all of these say Tadeus. Alexipharmakos. See people, we're still in the same we're still in the same universe. We're dealing with these
Eobolic animals and treating them and using the drugs that we use in the treatment of them in medicine. Not just in treating the degmata. Right, those are the bites and or stings. Right? What's the qualities of it again? Like what a bastard. This guy's a funny bastard. Hot. >> [laughter] >> It's hot. Is it moist? Is it dry? What is it?
What is it? Cassia. Cassia is used a lot in these antidotes. Specifically for the thanasimon pharmakon and the Eobolos. Those are the the ones. Cinnamomo, I don't know. This this one's the cinnamon's used all over the place, dude. I think it's pretty much a base. I think you're doing something with I don't know, [\\h__\\h] pH or something when you're using that people. Look at this, how much of this there is. As soon as you bring out those Eobolic, those venomous
Creatures you're you're tied down to the thanasimon pharmakon, the death inducers. Now people, you realize if we say death inducer
If we say death inducer to anybody on the outside like a Christian for example, like Westhoff, if I were to say you ever what I mean? What do you think of the death inducers? He's not going to know what the [\\h__\\h] we're talking about. But this word is used, the same word is used with Jesus. He He says this. Right? It's in the it's in the music. Oh god, let's end with that tonight, people. Look, and I hate these are great passages. I don't mean to pass these up,
People, cuz this is all the stuff I've been telling you about for a long time, but I see this you know, I've like I know this passage. Right, he's talking about the theriac again. The theriac Look what he does here though. He specifically classes it as an antidote. That's Galen.
Right, you're not going to see that all over the place.
Specifically. Oh, that's right. Oh god, this theriac's a good one. This book in particular happens to be a good one, people. Very scientific and very lovely. Should we can we listen to the song by Junius that has the Greek in it? Can we do that on here or no? You think so? People, have you listened to the Greek in this?
I know it's in kind of an otherworldly devilish kind of voice. It's not going to be on there, is it? Just put up one of our entries. Wait, no, people it will sound terrible. People will hate it. Let's see. Do we have it on the other computer?
No, okay, we'll get it next time. It's okay, people, it listen to the intro that we play. Listen to the intro that we play and you'll hear the verses from Mark when Jesus says you can drink the poison, etc. etc. That's the same word we're all looking at. Now, I want to ask a couple of questions before we leave to the people who are working on the Greek. Did Caitlin ever show up? She's not, okay. Um let me start with uh Brian. Brian, just give me a few
Um tell me a maybe a couple of works or authors that you'd recommend to people who are just starting out who are maybe just making it through the intensive course cuz a lot of people are watching it on Late Babylon. Mhm. What Give me two authors that you would recommend to people to go to and read the hell out of it in English, please.
Um definitely Bacchae, yeah, and um Iphigenia, I loved that. Um and um I've been trying to explore musical texts, so like um
Uh [snorts] well I'm trying to think Oh, uh Arist- Aristox- Aristoxenus or whatever. And um there was a Latin one, but that was good in English. Good. And anytime you get a chance to read some Latin, it's not going to hurt you. You know, I'm saying in English translation, right? And it's not going to hurt you to you know, do it. And classes have to have Latin, you know, as well so that they can read the you know, the few Latin sources we've got. Anyway, there's a lot anyway. Um good. And how
Tell me you know, you're sitting there. What I want to do is you're sitting there as a student and you're trying to go through these lessons and you're trying to pick them up. You're trying to memorize the vocabulary. You're trying to make it from one lesson to another without losing continuity. You're going through that. You need something Right. that in the back of your brain to say, "Hey, there's some goodness still in the world." When Madalena read Apollodorus and did some of his, you know, myth in uh
Library, um that kind of like you know, it perked her up. It showed her, "Oh, the material is actually really good out there." So, when you're doing that, like Jeff says, that heavy lifting you're going through that course, remember every once in a while you got to raise your head above the water and you got to take in some of that real that real beauty. You know what I mean? So, um if Brian were here, he would also tell you the Bacchae. That was one of the first
Things that we read together was the Bacchae. And
Brian saw through that experience that he could work his way through an entire work. He saw that he could you know, follow lines, that he could prep, maybe have 20, 30 lines prepped. Right? So, I want people to realize they're good This is the direction they're going to be going if they're working through the intensive course or they've done it. Now, for the students that are here like Madalena, Jason, I want you to do this, too. Caitlyn, if she's there, if she can we can find her.
I want her to do it. Um Tate I would like for you to do this as well. I would like you to take the first 20 lines of the Bacchae. We'll do. >> Just just Dionysus's speech. Right? To the world. It's his like opening to the world. And because the Bacchae is so special, I want people to see the real Greek that is there to get us down to the next level because I'm going to use that as a springboard for Satan. And you think how's he going to do that, right?
I'll show you with the language. So, if for Thursday I can have Tate, Madalena, and Jason, and others, Brian, if he's here. If you can read very well the first 20 lines, learn the vocabulary
So that you can sit here and translate it at sight. Let's do that on Thursday and I want you to be paying careful attention to all the cult terminology that's there. That's what I want you to see. So, we'll start out with that on Thursday at 7:00. And then we're going to try another I'm going to I'm going to speed the searches up now in the workshop, right? Cuz when I'm talking to you about the text, I'm slowing down. So, I'm going to speed it up a little
Bit and I'm going to do a compound proximity search that involves three different roots that we can get really specific with Satan. Okay. All right. Sounds awesome. Fantastic. Copy that. Good. Good. Fantastic. Okay. And on Thursday, I want to have today I'm going to run, but I want to have Oh, I want to have 30 minutes of questions from people who are coming and watching like Carlos. I want Carlos to be able to ask open questions. Right? And I want to you know, I want to pick your questions
And say, "Hey." Right? There's Carlos. Thank you. Carlos, you deserve it. Carlos does a lot of work behind the scenes, too. Right? There's a lot of people here that do that I don't think enough people, right? Who are always here. And shout out to Joseph, who was in the Josh, I'm sorry. God damn it. Josh, you got to step forward and we got to meet each other. Is Josh here tonight, by the way?
You figure it out if Josh is here, Chewie. I don't think. Say if he's >> Yes, he is. Hey Josh, do you want to say something about your experience? Just really quick. Just what is your, you know, what is you What was your takeaway from that whole experience with with the ambush?
Josh, what's your account name? Yeah. So, you got to tell you If you want to speak, you got to tell Chewie. You got it? This is Josh. Fantastic. Hey, how's it going, y'all? Good.
Uh so, my experience I'm an ex-Mormon. I saw Ammon's video uh with Neil a long time ago, years and years ago. And um 2 years after exploring Ammon's content, I decided to take it upon myself to buy a Hansen and Quinn book. And I independently wrote out each exercise for each unit and completed them myself. It took over a year. And during that period of time, I was emailing Ammon while I was doing it updating him. There was moments where I paused for months because I didn't
Understand the material. I didn't understand the morphology. I was like, "What is the middle voice?" Like I just didn't get it. I was like, "How What are these endings?" For a long time, I was like, I don't understand what it But I let it simmer. And over time I was able to complete all 20 of the units by myself. And uh I mean, just watching Ammon's content and understanding how the textbook explains the units, you can go through it yourself, write out those exercises and you can see um
The different declensions that the nouns are in. You can see the articles, how they match with uh the nouns. Uh the verbs have uh let's see, the seven tenses and uh four moods and voices. I mean, it's got uh two different aspects that I've been studying. Uh
It's been a long journey. Cuz, you know, going from Mormonism to knowing ancient Greek it's a huge leap. It's like uh going to the moon all of a sudden. So, I would just say I really appreciate Ammon for everything he's done. And if I can do it, anybody can. Really. Uh there's no excuse, especially cuz Madalena did it, too. Anybody can do it. She's a mom. I grew up with a single mother and I know how difficult it is just being myself, you know? Like so, the fact that she can do it with kids,
Anybody can do that. Anybody can take the time to learn it. And I'm tired of people discouraging uh the study of ancient Greek and trying to retrofit uh Semitic letter names and saying that the words like alpha, beta came from Hebrew. They didn't. There's no textual evidence that supports that claim. Uh that's a modern invention. >> So, tell me Okay, first I'm going to interrupt you, but this is You have to come on next Lady Babylon. You have to be there. Can you come on Lady Babylon
Next time? Yeah. Yeah. >> Okay. Here's what I want to tell you. What I want you to do now is I want you to If you haven't already take a look at the um Hebrews Greek. Have you done that? Um I I mean, I know that's a book, right? Uh I don't know who that's by, but you don't need to read that book to know what I'm saying right now cuz you won't find an abjad
Yeah, and and there's lots of theories about why Oh, well, we think we can reconstruct the the Greek from the Hebrew and Oh, well, what if the Hebrew actually came from Greek? The truth is, you won't find a Semitic abjad that lists um the letter names like uh aleph, beta gimmel There's no ancient text that lists those letter names out next to those letters. That's made up.
Is it Oh, God. Okay. Here. Josh, here's what I want you to do, okay? Now that you've been through the basic course, this is what I want you to do. Um can you see this the book I've got up in front of you? Uh yeah. Yeah, I can. Okay. Here's what I Here's what I want you to do. I want you just to peruse it. Like when you have some extra time I want you to peruse it and I want you to skip through to wherever it is that you see Greek.
I want you to skip to to wherever it is that you see Greek. And I want here I want to read this to you first because you particularly are going to enjoy this. By the way, how was it being bludgeoned? Did you like being attacked or was that no good? >> I knew he was going to pull up that text. And I knew I was going to say something about Keith and I wasn't sure how that was going to go. I'm not sure if I was able to fix it, but I mean,
That's just an argument about semantics, anyway. Right. Right. It's really not an argument.
Here, I'm going to go to page 17. And I just want you to see this. You personally, I think would find this quite enlightening. Look at what Okay. Look at what conclusion he came to here at the bottom. This is at the end of his like his method section, right?
He says, "Actually, the whole complex is consistent and only consistent with two propositions. So, all of his research leads to the to two possibilities. Number one, Biblical Hebrew is Greek and that the Hebrews were Asiatic Greeks."
Right? Oh god. Right? "In fact, the outcome of my labors extensive and elaborate research may be summed up in a brief sentence. Hebrew is Greek with a mask on." Now, people, he's going to go through he's going to go through and he's going to say things that are going to you know, it's obvious why this book got totally butchered when it came out and why you can't get copies of it, right? Except for online here, we got it all over the place. Look in his Look, that Hebrews were Asiatic Greeks. Oh, man.
Yeah, he even goes through talks about the Hittites being Scythians and exactly how they fit into the scheme linguistically. I mean, and he uses Look, he's talking about the Asiatic Pelasgi. The Pelasgians. Yeah, right. Exactly. Look what he's doing. Can you see it? It's a It's amazing and um watch the Greek. Now that you've got the intensive course, I want you to know >> What? But does that say Pelasgi? Yeah. Pelasgians. Asiatic Pelasgi. So, you're saying it says "Oi Pelasgoi." The Pelas-
What? What do you What? So, why do they even have all these Hebrew letters in here and stuff? Like, the fact that he had to make this book to it shouldn't even be necessary because there's no evidence of Semitic letter names. So, the fact that he's got to write this book to dismantle or or to defend himself in these arguments is kind of absurd. Like >> Yeah. Yeah, and ultimately, Josh, he lost the fight. Ultimately, he lost the fight. He got pooh-poohed and called it If you read
Some of the reviews, I had some reviews up that I didn't show during the shows. Right, yes. Um Look what he says in number seven. Helots, right? Were Israelites.
Right? Think about that for a minute. He's basing that on um not Philo, but on Josephus. He's basing it on Josephus cuz Josephus comes out and says that, you know, "Hey, there was this Oh. Lacedaemonian There's this Lacedaemonian, which for those of you don't know, that's Spartan. There's this Spartan king. Right? The Spartan king comes out and he writes to the Judeans and he says, "Hey, we're cousins. Right? You guys are all from um you're all Laconia. So, anything you need you know, we've got your back and we expect
That you're going to have ours." Right? It's Seven. How did the Laconia train their uh soldiers? Don't they raise them from birth? It's seven. Oh god, at seven they send them out there. They kick them out and they make them They harden them. >> Soldiers. Child soldiers. Yeah, they make them survive by stealing.
Yeah. Right. Right. >> [laughter] >> Wha- Wait, did that come up in the Oh, it came up. Okay, tell me Tell me about that real quick, how that came up. Uh well thievery. Uh well, there's a another ancient word called "epiro" and it means thief in like Akkadian or some [\\h__\\h] I don't know. But it did What What is with the thievery in the in the licentiousness going on with the ancient Israelites? What's going on there? Yeah. It's a thing, you know, it's a cultural thing to develop the ability to procure
Resources at the expense of others. And remember, those Spartans kept the Helots down. Man, that's just terrible. The history there is terrible. You want to talk about Yeah, you want to talk about [\\h__\\h] genocide. They could catch you out in the middle of nowhere and they could kill you if you were beyond, you know, the time that you were supposed to be out. It was the wrong day of the year or it was the wrong time. Right? Look what he says in eight. Hebrews worshipped Greek gods.
Right? Now, let me remember, this is a Jewish guy who's just doing the linguistics and he's saying all of this crazy stuff. All of this crazy stuff that certain Greek words pronounced by continental Greeks differently from their European brethren found their way back to Greek in a spelling conforming to their continental Oh gosh, atavisms.
Yeah. That's going to That's going to put me to sleep. I can't I don't >> Like that he has to like double speak almost just to get this out on paper. Like, he's got like, "Oh, well, I got to put in some Hebrew here to try to support Like, he's double speaking cuz he's saying the the Israelites worship Greek gods. He's talking about um the early Phoenician cultures that would have adopted like religions about sky gods like Baal and His influence his influence will be directly through
That channel where he's going to be talking about um Middle Eastern deities because he's influenced that way. Look what he says though. I mean, that's where he's coming from. It's almost like I want to I want to grab I want to grab him the whole time he's writing this from what I've read. I want to grab him and say, "Okay, you think that the Hebrew is being taken from the Greek. What if that's on purpose? What if it's like intentional? What if it's like the creation of a language that's not
Actually used? Right? And that's, you know, I don't I don't know. Look what he says here. "In this connection, it's right to identify by my theory the different peoples who inhabited Canaan." And he's talking He's talking about Hebrews as Greeks. So, he's going to talk about them. Well, who does he talk about? The Amorites, who were the Kamedoi. Okay, just Okay, for now, just keep it in your head. Okay. Canaanites. >> them like 10 different names for the same guys. Canaanites, Phoinikoi. Look what he's trying to do though.
Right? The Gergeshites are the Graikoi. Look what he's Again, look what he's doing. He's trying to get >> Graikoi. He's trying to get the link in the languages. And he knows that the Hebrew is taking from the Greek. Notice he says the Hittites are the Skuthai. Right? Some of his derivations, you think there's no [\\h__\\h] way. And then he shows you, "Oh, yeah, it's possible." Eh, okay. So, I'm I'm I'm just watching his possibilities.
The Perizzites are the Phrygians. Okay, the Jebusites are the Boeotians. The Cyprians are the Caphtorim. Right, people >> The Achaeans? The Achaeans? Right, we don't we don't have Right. Right, the Achaeans, right? The Caphtorim, we don't have any [\\h__\\h] There's no record of those people. He's talking about the Cypriots.
Right? He's trying to show you that the Greek is the original, but he doesn't He still lives by this myth that there's an earlier Hebrew there's an earlier Hebrew uh text. Yeah. Anyway, it's for you Here's what I want people to do. Here's what I want people to do. When he does things like he's looking at definite articles, that stuff is easy to follow. I want you to see how you can trace the definite article through the Greek. That shouldn't be happening. Right? The The likelihood of this happening any other way And he talks
About the alphabet. Josh, let's end with this.
What is What What is your What is your opinion of aleph bet gimel dalet alpha beta gamma delta? Listen, this whole book that we've been talking about and showing he's showing all these Hebrew words. Hebrew itself is an evolution of the Aramaic dialect. So, one, it's not None of the vocabulary that Hebrew uses is unique to its language. It's using all these other words that are also occurring in other Semitic languages like Aramaic, which by the way comes from Phoenician, which we know was brought by Cadmus. That's the only story that actually preserves the origin of the Phoenician characters
Because there's no Semitic abjads that have the names aleph betel bet gamal dalet. Which the Those words in themselves are mnemonics for alpha beta gamma, which were written down by actual Greeks in the 5th century BC long before any Semitic letter names were ever recorded. Yes. Yeah, no, I totally agree with that. I Nothing that you said is incorrect. Right? That's absolutely absolutely true. That's why it's so unbelievable that we sit here and we talk about, "Oh, well, it's the Greek is pulling that from the Hebrew." No, dude, there is no
[\\H__\\h] Hebrew. How many times do I have to tell you that Hebrew is a back translation? It's not existing. It doesn't exist when any of these languages are developing. Yeah, like the Dead Sea Scrolls are written in Aramaic. They're not written in Hebrew. And Paleo-Hebrew is Phoenician characters. And we know Phoeni- So, a Phoe- A A A language can adopt an alphabet to write its language down. That's what happened whenever Phoenician was discovered because there's actually scolea that talk about Phoenician characters being used during the Trojan War.
Long before Phoenician was discovered in the 17th century by scholars. It's just to keep people in in thinking about the time. 1700 is by that time there's uh there's several hundred years of Linear B. Right? So just to put just to put that in perspective, right? That Phoenician is novel compared to that Linear B. So yeah. Yeah, the very fact that people put all that emphasis there just blows my mind. And it you know it's only to defend. It's only to defend a false timeline. That yes, your language is the sacred language that predates all of these texts and all of these texts come
From your language which is chosen. It is the chosen language and that's what allows you to be the chosen people in the chosen land. Right? When none of that is [\\h__\\h] existing. It's total tyranny.
It's so that you can dismiss anybody who opposes you and so that you can basically retro fit the timeline to fit your narrative. That's what they were doing. Exactly. Saying that perpetuating the myth that alpha doesn't mean anything in Greek and that aleph beta gimel come from Hebrew and that's where the Greek letters come from. No. No, they don't actually come from Hebrew. No, they don't. Is there an ancient Hebrew text that has those letter names next to an alphabet? No. There's not an Ugaritic text like
That either. There's not an Akkadian one. There's not a Phoenician one. Wait, where are we getting these letter names from? Wait, you mean someone in the 18th century was like, oh God, we got to come up with some names for these [\\h__\\h] letters or I'm going to lose my mind and and we we took some words from Aramaic that sounded like those words. So tau aleph alpha. Okay, let's just [\\h__\\h] put it in there. That's what they did. And I'm sorry to say it but that's what happened.
Aleph bet gimel daleth, right? He vav, right? There you people you can follow the alphabet with the Greek. Those are random letters. Was that Pae? I think I heard Pae. Pae, did you want to say something? Those are not letter names. Uh Josh and I were working on it yesterday last night uh for me. Um we were just looking at all the sources and we were realizing well he already knew obviously. But we were realizing for the rest of us that there's really nothing. There's nothing. An ox ox for it's
Yeah, anyways. No, say it. Say it. I love I'm sorry. I've got my little one behind me trying to talk to me too. I love Pae's. You can listen to Pae's voice and hear the it's almost there's a deeper contempt for the you know, all like he smells the lie and he's like, God. >> [laughter]
>> I love it. I love it. Um Pae, can you please can you please look at those first 20 lines of I will. Absolutely. And I'm going to dissect it. We'll put it all on so mine will we'll do it all together. Oh, perfect. Yeah, if you guys can do it all together on so mine that's absolutely marvelous. But I want people to see dig for the cult. Find the cult. The terms in there that cult because we can take those terms and we can plug
Them into our TLG searches and we can pull up stuff that you're going to be shocked about. You're going to be like, oh wait a minute, that that's how this word is used. Oh, and then and you're going to be seeing stuff in the Bible and you're going to be like, oh, well now that finally explains the Bible. So that's the way to go. That's the way to go.
I've also placed I'm sorry. Um I've also I've also placed other of Yehuda's um books articles in the file that I sent you. I sent you the the system. It's up for you to try it out with Chewie here in the room. It's up guys from the room. That's interesting. Chewie, do you know that? Do you know how we can do that? Yeah. Okay.
Pae, it's a it's an honor by the way Pae to be able to work with you. I know you're doing a a lot and I'm just seeing what Josh is doing and you know, again, how do I thank you guys? You know, for representing you know the study of Greek. That's what we're doing here. We're representing the study of Greek. So You're doing what you're already doing. Yeah, yeah. This is perfect. This is what we need. Yeah, you're the one that puts me on it. I think you already did a video
Debunking this aleph. Like if you look at the shapes like they don't even match. Like when you line up the um what is it? Proto-Sinaitic with um they don't even align. Like they don't even look the same. There's other scripts that are undeciphered that are are more ancient that they haven't touched. Now you know why a lot of classical philologists I won't say I won't say all but you know a lot of classical philologists turn up their noses at biblical studies. Cuz the nature of it is so it's so shotty.
But beautiful. Okay, I I love this time people. Let's do um the same thing Thursday with our assignment. And I'll dig deeper and do more com I'll I'll I'll I'll turn it from 2D into 3D the search. And um hopefully we'll find something that's like you know revolutionary. And um I want to use the last 30 minutes for questions just for people who have you know, odd questions like you know um what if I don't want to start now but I want to start down the line? What would
You recommend? You know, stuff like that. Whatever or hey, what's your favorite you know, what's your favorite drug from antiquity? I don't know. Maybe it's the Yeah, and Chewie says she loves it too. So thank you everyone. Um have a good night and if you want to continue the discussion um please please realize that next time I want you to come people from the gallery who have not yet spoken. I want to give you a chance to speak up. Right? And to be part. So that's what
The workshop you know, benefit is having this many people in a in a discord, right? You every people are not there to sit there and you know, listen. Just listen. Okay. People, I'm going to run and thank you. Thank you for coming tonight. Uh you're good and honorable people and and I'm honored to be here with you. Thank you. Thank you. Good night. Thanks Almen. Good night everyone. Thanks Almen.
